try smaller boards ian openshaw highlighted this as a potential problem on his dvd and demonstrated this on it ,as I only keep cockers at moment decided to reduce board sizes accordingly to stop any problems , don't like posting on forums as shown every answer seems to be open to criticism but thought this would possibly help ,good forum only seems wasted by people who seem to live on there computer answering everything .wont be posting again would rather spend my time training my dogs than listening to crap on this forum

thanks for your im put. I saw your original post last night and checked my board sizes to the DVD and they are the same as suggested on the dvd. In fact one is slightly smaller due to some dodgy carpentry on my part.

He does also say that you shouldnt leave a problem like the laying down alone.

Canthill has a good suggestion. If you are on Facebook 'like' G and D Kennels (Gary Breitbarths kennel) and send a 'friend request' to Gary Breitbarth, he posts videos using different size boards for different aspects of place board training. For those who don't know, Gary is the one that Ian Openshaw learned place board training from.

Very true! Changing the lessons along with different size boards can really help perk up your pup. GB was the trainer that got Opie going on the boards.
