New lab pup

Post by Forest2262 »

Hi everyone, I am so new to this forum, but have now got my third lab pup! She is twelve weeks old and I am lucky enough to have one of Sara Gadd and Mike Tallamys Ferraris, this time, and although the pup has everything built in I do not, so all help and advice is welcome as I want to do the best by her! Not sure about when to start her proper training but she is already sitting on whistle, and by voice, can anyone recommend a really good Lab training DVD as I will go back to Sara for a lesson if Ivy continues to give me more than I can give her.

How's the wee pup bred? Is it a Gertie puppy?

Hi, she is not one of Gerties, but Mikes Calderdey Adder and Sara's Birdsgreen Bronte of Brindlebay with Drakeshead Indiana and Mansengreen Diesel of Birdsgreen as grandads, so I need to work hard lol

Re: All advice very welcome

I only joined this forum on Sunday, but have had lovely sound advice, some more opinions much needed specifically from Lab owners, as that's all I know, my much missed first Lab came picking up at 10months, and retrieved without messing up the shoot! my second Lab the same but not interested after two retrieves, do I take my 12 week old pup with my very disinterested laid back 6 year old with me in the car(not to do anything but smell, listen and learn in the dog box) I want to, but some think it could blow her mind! I would not be near the guns or the action, but obviously be seeing game, runners etc and doing lunch with all dogs, good or bad!! Advice needed please :o
