ESS Litter
Re: ESS Litter
So....Do I take it they are all health tested and Beechessam is on his very favourite hobby horse?

Re: ESS Litter
Simple enough question, the sires, 2 in particular are worlds apart in drive and temperamentbeechessam wrote:I've used Apollo so has James.
Pups are here now though.
Can I ask why those particular sires.
Re: ESS Litter
Perhaps you guys would like to explain the different attributes to the OP to help him refine his choices a bit? Try and help rather than get picky this early in a thread.
In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.
Re: ESS Litter
It would be easier if the OP got the owners numbers from the stud adverts on the Internet and called them if he was after any information about them I think.
Luck is defined when opportunity meets ability.
Re: ESS Litter
Makes you wonder why we have the Gundog Training Forum doesn't it? Nobody dare put their opinions on the internet these days? C'mon guys fora are all about helping people otherwise there's no point in them whatsoever.

Re: ESS Litter
so....I'm guessing the OP is looking at these sires due to the health testing. You say they are 'very different' (which they are!). So why not give us your thoughts? Those who run in, and more specifically judge, trials have a much better view on what dogs are really like than those of us who only see the awards. I understand you won't want to be overly critical on a public forum but comments such as 'dog A is a bit quirky and his pups might not suit a novice', or 'dog B lacks a bit of style but is really consistent' would be very helpful. Of course the OP could ring the stud owners...but will they give unbiased testament? (The owners of these dogs probably would). Or maybe, if the OP tells us what he's planning on doing with the pup, you could suggest other studs (with or without a full card of health tests) to consider.

If you'd bother to read my posts you'll know all my dogs are tested so in far from being anti testing.
I asked the question because the OP asked about a few dogs. I asked why those dogs so we had an idea of why he was considering those sires, what attributes he's looking for and wants to avoid.

I love you S!! You should have gone into the law for a career - I wish I could be as eloquent as you are. To the OP - those dogs really are all so different as beechessam says - so it would be interesting to hear about your bitch to maybe give sound advice to you. For example - there is a stonking FTCH dog out there that's been to the championship 3 or 4 times - but it wouldn't be the best dog to use if you had a soft bitch. See what we mean?? That's all beechessam & James are saying.beechessam wrote:Your point being?Rascal wrote:So....Do I take it they are all health tested and Beechessam is on his very favourite hobby horse?![]()

Re: ESS Litter
I don't think the op was asking about them with a view to using them on a bitch of his, just asking if anyone knew of litters were planned by someone on here using one of these dogs(?) he may have seen a dog by these sires and liked them(?) fair enough question imho.deefer+tag wrote:I love you S!! Re: ESS Litter
Dawnrazor - I have re-read the OP's post and I must go to specsavers!! Even so, with those 3 different dogs you are potentially going to get quite different types of pups, depending what bitches are used, all of them have pros and cons going for them - depends what he's after.
