I am sure I have asked before but I cant find it plus it was a while ago so an up to date wont do any harm.
Three questions......
As the title what tinned dog food is considered to be the best quality. ?
Is pedigree as bad as I am lead to believe. ?
What would be the recommend protien level for medium - active cocker. ?

best canned wet food
Muddling along in the hope that one day it starts to make sense.
Re: best canned wet food
Not tinned, supplied in plastic trays, but Naturediet do good complete foods.

Agreed, Naturediet is good. Forthglade also do a good wet food in trays.
Lily's kitchen, Wainwrights, anything with lots of meat and little to no grain is ok too, but feeding a decent quality wet from a tin usually works out really expensive. Pedigree is utter shite, all filler and very little actual food. Avoid stuff like that like the plague!

Thanks, local pet shop concurred naturediet, she gives it her labs. Have got 3 trays to try. Hope the fussy madam likes them.
Would you suggest mixing it with dry or give it neat .

Anything without cereals listed on the label! Rocco from Zooplus is cheapest all meat option I've found

If she is on dry now then mix the two, gradually increasing the wet over a few days. I fed Butcher's Tripe with a decent mixer for years with great results but it got too expensive when I had multiple big dogs.
The sight and smell of these meat paste things puts me right off, they don't look like meat nor smell like meat, mind you neither does Butcher's Tripe!

In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

This nature one looks ok its quite firm but no meaty chunks, looks better than the Wainwright one though that looks like babyfood. Mixed it with James welbeloved dry she seemed to enjoy it. She has never really seemed to enjoy any kibble but we have yet to find suitable wet so here's hoping.

The Rocco one is impressively not stinky at all - I buy the cheapest "flavour" (they do summer, winter and special recipes) and the recent French Chicken one for the Euros (!) actually smelt like a delicious herby chicken casserole!Judy wrote: The sight and smell of these meat paste things puts me right off, they don't look like meat nor smell like meat, mind you neither does Butcher's Tripe!

The meaty chunks in the vast majority are in fact textured vegetable protein!ips wrote:This nature one looks ok its quite firm but no meaty chunks, looks better than the Wainwright one though that looks like babyfood.
