Rabbit Pen construction

Post by pondwall »

Hello

I'm after some advice from the members of the forum. I have a small shoot on our family farm near Clacton-on-Sea, but we also have a small area of unused land about 1-2 acres. I was thinking about building a rabbit pen not just for my own personal use but also to rent out on an hourly basis.

Is there any interest in this in the local area? Is there many other pens in the area?

What would the going rate be or what is paid elsewhere?

What do you expect from a rabbit pen?

Any advice and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

A decent one is going to cost you over £2k. Unless you have multiple dogs they arent worth the effort. There is a small demand for hire, but i wont hire mine out unless its part of a lesson, otherwise you just get unruly dogs and the rabbits dont last long.

I’ve found that a pet rabbit in an enclosed garden can be useful. Doesn’t have to be fancy if you’re getting a dog used to working around them.
