Northants Club Needed

Post by IKSV »

Hi there,
I'm sure something must be hidden in the many threads on the forum but can anyone recommend a good gundog club/trainer in the Northamptonshire area?

Many thanks

Steve :)

spaniel or lab?

As a handler, its impossible to make your dog perform better than it is, but very easy to make it perform far worse.

your nearest gundog club would be coventry.
Google them. They have training sessions on a weekday evening i believe too.
Too many Springers, and Roxie the black cocker.

Myself and a few people I know may be looking to start something up in Northants, nothing fancy or a 'boys club' thats for sure, we don't care if you have a spaniel, lab, HPR or whatever in fact one of the lads has a Vizsla.
I think between us we have enough experience to help a few novices along thier way, and have a bit of fun, I have plenty of ground and ponds etc so once we can all eventually get toghter and thrash out what we want to do I will post something on here, we will probably be aiming at basic training and up to shot over stuff but no plans to get all formal with KC working tests etc, we may just have a fun day to start with to see what sort of interst that brings and take it from there, watch this space ;)

HOLY PM's Batman!! :-D

We will look to sort out a fun day after the CLA with a bit of luck and another just before the season starts just to rev the dogs up a bit and get some of them back into the swing of things, we are all shooting folks who tend to work ours on small shoots and not into trialing etc so it may be a bit different to what you have been too before  should be entertaining and hopefully usefull to a few novices if they want to have a go 'THERE WILL BE NO SCOFFING FRROM THE SIDELINES IF YOU OR YOUR DOG GETS IT WRONG" ;) may ask a few of you to bring launchers, dummies etc if thats ok?

Not too far from Royston please!
Me, Ghillie the Champion, Merlin the Mad. Brittanys were bred as poachers dogs.....They were an extension of the old rogue's arm, trained to look innocent and unprepossessing, all the time plotting, thinking, scheming to make game!
