Awards & Certificates

Post by mustogirl »

for those of you that have won competitions or received awards with your dogs, how do you display your certificates & trophies?

I have just finished hanging up some of the awards that we have recently won (tests & trials) and wanted to see how other people show off their certificates?

I don't. I laminate certificates and put them in a file, I give all my rosettes to PAT for recycling and trophies that have to be returned are engraved and put back in the box to they do not tarnish before I return then.

Those that are keepers, are on shelves.

don't take any of it seriously enough to do anything 'displaying' wise, other than keep trophies on sideboard because that's the safest place and we wont loose them, some of the certificates have been laminated but all are in a draw or storage box somewhere. Still have some rosettes/certificates in car, must tidy that up at some point lol.

As a handler, its impossible to make your dog perform better than it is, but very easy to make it perform far worse.

After a couple of years of trialling you've got enough certificates to cover every wall in the house - an expensive way of redecorating at £25 a pop though! At the end of the day the only certificates worth framing are the ones that start FTCH and DoM ;) Sadly not received one yet :( :-D

yes i agree.
Although everyone has to start somewhere  and each higher award we will be getting i will be replacing so it doesnt take over the house or the kennel! :-D

I have a trophy which I am looking forward to giving back as it is one less thing to dust :-D My other certificates are all in a drawer somewhere, don't have anything really super.

With my first dogs i collected certificates and put up rosettes on the wall. I loved doing it and remember i felt very proud so why not? It soon became way too much for my small house and dusty too. I then began to only put up the special ones and collected the rest in a box. In the end i threw everything but the sjch Cerificate. Nowadays it's more collecting memories rather than bits of paper but i'll save the ftch one.

You will, trust me. Even if its just a few every second year or so it builds up, slowly but surely. Enjoy your awards and display them proudly, it's nice to be proud of what you achieved together with your dog.
