Skinners or Chudleys

Apologies if this has been done to death already . But I was wondering how many use chudleys and how they find it with their dogs. I am currently using Skinners Duck and Rice but wondered how people got on with chudleys.

Chudleys has far more grain and fillers - if the Duck and Rice is working for you stick with it

I like Skinners Duck and Rice but added cod oil to it. I now use CSJ Champ and no oil.

Neither - too many 'fillers' in both feeds but most dogs doing a few days out every season would be fine on either although some dogs tend to get 'loose' on Chudleys because of the amount of maize they use.

If what you feed works for you and your dogs stick with it, if not then change. You will always end up getting posts on this say it's crap or its not as good as what I feed because blah blah blah. Both companies have been making dog food for a long time and I suspect will continue to do so as an awful lot of people find it to be just fine.
I find neither are great for the labs but the spaniels do ok on both or did when I last used any ( a good few years ago now mind) so trial and error is the only way to be honest. I've seen one lab look shocking and it's owners spent a fortune on all the best and most expensive brands only for the dog to continue to look shite and for one reason or another they were told to feed a brand call Arkwrights, that's about £10 for 20kg and by the time they had finished the first bag the lab was a different dog so who knows what's best for some and not others. All I know is I fed it here it would just go straight through them.

What James said! I find the cheaper the food the more I pick up behind them.

I will say though, a picker up on our shoot always feeds Chudleys, his dogs look wonderful but are flagging by the last drive in spite of him keeping them fit with loads of exercise and training when not out working. Mind you, I have also seen a couple of the best raw fed dogs flag by lunchtime and spark out by home time whereas the junk food dogs on the trailer are still raring to go - find what suits both your dog and your pocket then stick with it.

I've never got on with Skinners, over priced for the results I've gotten. I like Chudleys puppy meal, I use CSJ Tripe or Lamb mixed with mince, even if I've no mince, I've had good results with CSJ, good money too, which when you've 10 dogs, must be a consideration.
