helan i aint seen the dog but again if he was ftch material i think he would be up there, if i need corrected then please correct me but did that dog not win his novice around october time 2009, what has he did since then ??? if he was a open contender he would have been contending..i dont even think he can be compared to bovril..i no what u saying btw about nerves etc but if the dog is good enough he would win and freddie aint did nothing out of novice and 1 more little point, if the top trialling guys says he was ftch material why are they not using him ???

Fair point Paul. One of the guys that really rated him was his breeder so I guess he's bound to say that. I haven't seen the dog so I can't comment on his potential as a FTCh or lack of.

Back to the main point of the thread, FTCh Cheweky Bovril aka Rooney, a top dog that is well worth using in my humble opinion. Shame he is too closely bred to my own bitch.

I have seen both dogs in action.

Bovril stood out for me head and shoulders over Freddie. There was also a buzz about Bovril on the day that you don't see often.

Well we have been to visit Rooney....and he is a cracking dog, exactly what we wanted from a Sire. He has drive when needed, but also has an off switch which is very important to us...so all in a spot on dog, a real credit to Martin....and Martin is great, calls a spade a spade, nae messing about..just what we want..so all is go for mating...really excited about it....
